England defeated Canada 33-13 at Twickenham to win the Women’s Rugby World Cup for the third time, ending a run of two final losses to New Zealand.
In front of a record 81,885 crowd, the Red Roses extended their winning streak to 33 games with a dominant display of forward power, ferocious defence, and clinical finishing. Tries from Ellie Kildunne, Amy Cokayne, Alex Matthews (twice), and Abbie Ward sealed victory, despite two scores from Canada’s Asia Hogan-Rochester.
Canada, who had stunned New Zealand in the semi-final, pushed hard but were overpowered in key moments. The triumph, England’s first world title since 2014, capped a landmark year for women’s sport in the country following the Lionesses’ Euro 2025 success.
