The Black Caps secured a 21-run victory at Seddon Park in Hamilton, making it their second win in the series against Pakistan.
Finn Allen played a crucial role for New Zealand by scoring 74 runs from 41 balls, making his third-best score in T20 internationals. His explosive start helped the New Zealander set a strong foundation with a score of 194-8.
Adam Milne was a standout with the ball, taking 4 wickets for 33 runs. His pace proved to be a significant factor in limiting Pakistan’s scoring.
The Black Cap’s performance was consistent with their previous win. Despite some setbacks, such as Kane Williamson retiring hurt and a slide in their batting they still managed to post a competitive total.
Pakistan’s chase was initially promising, thanks to an 87-run partnership for the third wicket. However, they eventually fell short, being dismissed for 173.
The home team had a couple of fielding lapses, but these did not significantly impact the final result.
With this win New Zealand is one game away from clinching the five-match series.
Besides Allen and Milne, players like Mitchell Santner and Tim Southee chiipped in with valuable contributions.
